It was 30 years ago that the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generationfirst aired. Aboard the starship USS Enterprise, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (the role that introduced worldwide audiences to Patrick Stewart) led the crew through space adventures well into the future.

The series, which followed the final mission of the original Enterprisecrew led by Captain Kirk (played by William Shatner), continued for seven years, with the final episode airing in 1994.

Members of the cast and TV team celebrated the milestone anniversary and reflected on what's happened since the sci-fi show ended. Producer Rick Berman, who worked with show creator Gene Roddenberry, looked back at the show and went deep into Star Trektrivia and memories.

Fans, including star LeVar Burton's daughter, were gushing about the show.

Resistance is futile when it comes to indulging in Star Trek fandom.
